If you are traveling this holiday season and plan on renting a car, be forewarned that the prices are up...way up. Over 200% in some places.

I wonder if this mostly applies to the entry-level and midsize cars. I suspect the already expensive luxury cars and SUVs might stay around the same price. I could be very wrong though.

The worst thing about renting a new Cadillac, I've found, is having to give it back at the end of the trip. :(

Gee, I rented a Cadillac Catera many years ago, and the best part of that experience was returning it. ;) That's interesting about the rate increases. I've gotten double and triple upgrade offers from the major companies in the last few weeks.

Orlando is sooo cheap to rent cars. I got a Chevy Sonic there a few weeks back for $10/day, $12 with insurance included!
