Remove only the engine harness... leave everything else (battery/alt connections etc). I've never wired a RB20 into a Z31, but I'd imagine it's a similar concept to wiring one into a S13 and S14 in which which I have wired RB20's

idealy you want a 200zr engine which is a redtop rb20 from the z31 chassis.wiring is going to be way diffrent than the s13 chassis as they were designed at diffrent time periods.but yeah, only remove the engine harness, basicly the ecu bit, dont bother removing it from the engine, just unplug the ecu and where it plugs into the dash harness and feed the ecu plug out into the engine bay and drape the harness on top of the engine.

well the redtop rb20det has a little less performance then the skyline rb20det, and parts for the 200zr are harder to find then the skyline rb, I believe so anyways, I already have the red top rear sump oil pan, I am getting a custom aluminum driveshaft made from thedriveshaftshop.com, and I am getting custom mounts made, this should be all I need, the skyline rb20 should bolt right in after I install the oil pan and custom mounts...I know this seems like a downgrade from just getting a vg30et, but I want to put the rb in just for piece of mind and ease of working on it in the cramped z31 engine bay, the v6 is just to wide to work on, if you wanna get to things like headers and the o2 sensor is a PITA to get to...anyways, anymore info would be greatly appreciated...I plan on gettin up 350hp on stock internals, I am going to be using a garret master power t62 w/ t3 flange, turbo calculator stainless manifold, HKS GT wastegate, HKS SSQV, Ebay IC, till I can afford something better ie. HKS or Trust...or have a custom one made..my fuel managment is as follows: Custom Fuel Rail, Nismo 660cc Injectors, Aeromotive fuel pump, aeromotive FPR, SS fuel lines, maybe a some kind of EMS, like electromotive tec3 or some kind of wideband...but thats not till later, till then I will tune with a apex-i safc...I have none of these parts yet except for the IC and Injectors...my plan is to get the rb20 to get into the high 400hp levels with streetable driving and reliability, and get into the 11's...I know I can do it with minimal mods, but I want to make sure this thing is a streetable as possible...
