Im removing the wiring harness from my ka so i can start my sr swap. Under the dash after i disconnect the ecu what is holding the harness to the chasis. I disconnected the ecu and the plug that runs up higher around or above where the glove compartment is. Right around where the wiring harness gets that plastic guide it is stuck. What is it that is holding the harness there but importantly, how do i get it off? This is the wiring harness for ka24e if it matters.

there should be a little clip that snaps into one of the support beams. You could be picky and use finesse or you could cut it out. Not the harness, but the tape that surrounds that curved plastic piece. If you are doing a swap you wont need it.

its a plastic piece and yes, its a PITA. Once you get it off, you never have to worry about it again and taking out the harness will take you like 30 minutes altogether. The first time is by far the hardest. I recommend getting a small flathead screw driver and feeling for where it has the most tension against the metal and just pry it off. It'll pop off and you'll probably hit your hand, but then you'll be back on track.

Get a flathead screwdriver or a prybar and wedge it out of that hole.

Also, where can i order a gasket at for the oil pan? I figured id take it off to check to see if there are any dents in in the pan. I came up with nothing on my quick google search. And is it called oil pan seal or gasket?

The oil pan uses a liquid gasket. I've seen people use the red silicon RTV, gray ultra-grey but I used the ultra black myself.

I have another question. Will the throttle body cables that i used for my ka24e work with the sr. I thought that they would but I was reading an article online that said other wise. I'll also be posting some pics up later in the week when im done with the swap. Thanks everyone for the help and positron_ you are the king of right ups.

So I went to go install some motor mounts that i bought and I ran into a problem. I think I got 2 motor mounts from the same possibly. Comparing them to the mounts i took off of my ka24e, one mount has @ bolts on the bottom, one just has one. (1st and 3rd in the pic) On the 2 I just bought they both have 2 bolts on the bottom. And the mounting bracket that is on my sr looks like its only made for mounts that have 1 bolt. Any suggestioins.

That's the top of the mounts and the extra bolt is for bolting the heatshields to them.

They have these little metal tabs that seat onto the engine mount brackets so they will only go on one way.

So I ran into another problem before I was about to drop the engine in. I came across this metal pipe and I have no idea what it goes to. It's right under the heater hoses, and its open on both ends.
