I'm doing the same thing right now. Needle nose pliers weren't really working for me. See if you can get a valve stem removal tool from advance or something. I don't know if they have them, just a guess. You could also go to the dealer and go to the service department and see if they can take them out, if I can't get them out that's what I'm probably going to do. Go the service dept. and offer some mechanic like 10 or 20 bucks and be like hey pull my valve stem seals!

I got it from the advance auto loan a tool deal, but it's not designed for our heads...they way the springs are like in the head it just doesn't work. I kinda modified it and turned it upside down, but i'm running the risk of damaging the bottom of the head. I'm just taking the valves and stem seals out before it goes to the machine shop so they can fix anything i mess up haha

i dont like to give all my tricks away....but....i made a tool using 2 flathead chepo screw drivers..i made them bend under till each driver was like a claw on the end..then i used a hose clamp to hold them together..after that..id slip it over and pull up..was easy after the first few trys..and wouldent ya know..the driver came in handy for pulling that little clip under a window knob too....good luck.
