What can I take off my RB20 IM? Is there any extra crap that I can do without? Since Im not running AC, which is the idle motor specifically for it?

I really cleaned up my KA and Id like to do the same with my RB, I havn't taken a good look at the IM yet since Ive been dealing with the wiring.

TIA~Alex

I Dont think there is anything you can take off the ITM.

Removing any vac lines etc. will mess with the way your car runs.

Just pull off the A/C compressor, belt, bracket and hoses. If you have the Condenser still in there, pull that out too.You can get some better air flow your your rad and IC.

Thats what I did.

Yeah, rip out all the Emissions junk. Evap canister, evap solenoid, etc. Unless you are in Cali.

You can also clean up the fuel system by going to top-feed rail and injectors, and nice -AN lines. Don't forget the resistor pack when converting.

That will clean up a lot, but other then that..

why are ther two idle control valves? ( the one on the back of the intake and the one bolted by the fuel rail) and can one of them be "tuned out"? i ask cause i plan on making a intake and the less you have the less that goes wrong. one of them is definetly going. i dont care about crappy idle.

the throttle body warmer is emmisions nonsence i think and could be blocked off.

Yeah you could disconnect the water going to the Tbody, but you can't really see that anyway. Doesn't it get COLD as hell in Ohio??

The one on the back of the plenum is the AAC i believe which is your Idle valve, the one next to the fuel rail is the IACV- Idle air control Valve that apparantly controls the amount of air going to the AAC.(***Not 100% sure***)But I know you need both.

Ive already removed the emissions and AC from the car, and I have a factory ac delete box that goes under dash, I just need to put it in.

I havn't had the TB coolant lines on my KA for over 2 years, one winter in chicago and this past winter here in ohio, theres no problems what so ever. I believe its there to protect it from icing up, which the coldest it would get is startup, I never had a problem with that, and also its suppose to reduce carbon buildup. But since I track it I never had a problem with that either.

Oh, that brings to mind, what usdm engine can I get a TB gasket from? I took off mine to clean stuff and I hate using RTV if I can avoid it.

But over all theres nothing I can take off? I guess I'll just try to reroute the wiring harness under the IM and clean everything.
