alright guys so i plowed into a curb the other day in the rain, very unfortunate... i need to replace my tie rod, lower control arm and the other rod that is on a fat bushing (forget the name). anyways, i searched for a while on removing the tie rod from the rack and i haven't really gotten a full explanation. Im sitting here with pretty much everything off (still working on the ball joint from the control arm) and im staring at the knuckle of the tie rod where it meets the actual rack. how exactly can i get that off? just smash on it with a hammer and screwdriver from the inside out? i need to get this done asap, gotta run to pick n pull

you have to pull the boot off first. You should see a metal piece with 4 tabs. Pry those tabs back and then you should be able to get a wrench on the flat section of that inner tie rod to break it loose. Not sure what size wrench but its going to be up there. Probably like a 21 or 22 mm....im guessing.
