Ok, I am still pulling stuff off my old Q. I have the spindles from the front suspension and Im trying to seperate it from the steering rack.

I cannot get the ball joints out of the sockets. Ive tried everything, hitting with a hammer, I tried using a puller on them to force them down but they wont $&!*ing come out..

Any suggestions, I really want to get them seperated from the steering rack.

torch. Heat it and then give it a solid sideways whack with a BFH. Or use a pickle fork.

for tie rod ends, you need to use that tie rod fork and wedge it in between the ball joint and its mating surface. then hit it with a BFH many times until it breaks free.

if this is a lower ball joint you need to rent one of theose big ball joint C clamps from autozone.

Or you could just unscrew the tierods from the outer tierod ends and keep the rack (or sell it) with the idea that you'll install new tie rod ends with the rack. They can be removed with the correct puller, but it's a beiotch. I've done it a few times, but I don't remember exactly what I used. Might be worth soaking them overnight in PB Blaster or WD40.
