I have been wanting to replace the OEM parking/E-brake cover in my A/C with an aftermaket handle and add a leather boot on it to make it look nicer.

When I had my center console apart i tried just pulling the cover off the brake handle but it would not budge.

I read on another forum about a guy doing this with his Z but he actually cut it off cause it wouldnt come off.

Has anyone done this? or does anyone know how to remove it?

Why does it seem risky? Cutting it would be my last resort. I'd like to find a better way to do it if possible.

Nope, I don't! Sorry boys! I've only done the shift boot and the arm rest. There was a guy just before me who had his e-brake paraphernalia replaced by Red Line (I think...) and he also had a custom handle as well. IIRC, he did have to cut it though. I tried emailing him about it but received no response...

It's been a few months. Don't even remember what his user name is... AFAIK, he hasn't posted here in a while.

If you ever figure out how to take the cover off, let us know. I would like to also remove that cover and put a leather boot on and handle.
