I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO REMOVE THE STOCK ORANGE COLOR THAT GOES ON THE DASHBOARD GAUGES? I SAW A FORUM WHERE IT SAYS THAT THE STOCK ORANGE COLOR COULD BE CHANGED BECAUSE IT JUST PEELS OFF. PLEASE HELP

nope, i'm too chicken to mess with my gauge cluster. i've heard of some people having trouble with resetting the needles for the gauges. i think there's a member here who's done it, DAAN i think is his name, look for him and shoot him a question about it.

ive done it on mine. wasnt too hard. messed up my rpm needle and havent gotten around to fixing it. that was my fault though and it could have easily been avoided. i ended up using glass paint to paint it after to blue. oh and it doesnt peel off. need to scrape it off. be careful not to scrape off the black paint

sure. here it is:

pull the dash out by tugging down on this: and on the other side: this should release it. then pull the main part out: disconnect the wires: unscrew: take apart by unclipping: scrape off orange paint: apply any color glass paint: make sure there arent bubbles in the paint: reinstall it and enjoy:

I really wanna do this, I'm into the DIY stuff, my one concern is a) any tips on how to avoid damaging anything? you mentioned the rpm needle, what happened? and b) how did you paint it so perfectly?

This is a great alternative instead of changing the lights, it would make the orange more bearable!

scrape off the orange with a knife. i used a scalpel i had lying around from a biology dissection kit. lol. the orange is on the back of the gauges and comes off much easier than the black paint does. the painting the blue doesnt have to be perfect because it only shines through where you have removed the orange. be careful not to be too rough on the scraping or the black will come off as well. and to make sure needles dont get stuck, try not to touch them while taking the pieces apart. if you do, the mph needle is easily reset but rpm has to be pulled out to reset.

take the needle out and reset it that way. take it out, rotate the base to correct position and put it back in. i havent done it yet but someone else had same issue and did that.

cheaper yes, but your screens will still be orange, with surman the screens can be changed too, and u dont have to worry about f***ing up the needles..
