I've got a KA24E and I've noticed that the engine will sputter if I remove the oil cap on the valve cover while the engine is running.

There's quite a bit of air blowing out as well.

I can't seem to figure it out.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Matt

There is nothing wrong. The KA has a breather hose that connects the valve cover to the intake tube. This provides scavenging of excess crankcase gases via the vacuum prior to throttle body. When you have your oil cap off, your are allowing unmetered air past the MAF sensor. This creates a lean condition, hence the engine sputtering.
