I pulled out my gauge cluster once before and I admit it wasnt the best of ways to do it. Also the part that surrounds it was cracked in one area when i got the car which made it easier to pull out. Since then I have fixed that crack and I am not wondering what is the proper way to pull out the gauge cluster without much hassle and breaking anything under the dash? I was changing the alarm and decided to do and LED conversion just b/c my yellowish lights are fading.

Take off the part of the dash that is by where your knees would be (its several bolts don't remember how many). Once thats out of the way, if you get underneath and look up, almost directly behind steering column cover thing there will be some gold bolts that hold up the steering column. Remove them (I only remove these ones and it gives me enough room to work around and get the cluster out, some people remove two more bolts to drop the column more). With the column down you should be able to get everything out pretty easy.
