Does anyone know how to cleanly remove the black side strip taping on the 89-91 s13?

The sides come off easily, but the front and rear are really caked on good-I tried wd-40 but that was no help- Any suggestions?

I'd actually start off with a hair dryer over a heat gun. It can be very easy to damage your paint with a heat gun. I had an Italian flag thingy glued to the back of my car. A little heat from a hair dryer on a hot summer day and the adhesive on that just gave way. I used some "Oops" adhesive remover followed immediately by water to remove any excess gunk left behind.

3m adhesive remover. Couldn't get off a little part near the exhaust though since it was caked on pretty good.
