I believe this has been covered before, but I didn't find anything.

I need to remove my taillight overlays because both are ripped. I ripped the right one when I leaned it on my car when I changed the reverse bulb.

The left side never really 'hugged' the indentions of the light. The vinyl always bridged the indention of the light and when I washed my car with a high pressure washer it tore through the vinyl. It's hard to describe what I mean... hope it's clear. (At least that's what I assme)

Anyways... so I want to remove them both because I think it looks ghetto. Will it just be a clean removal or will I have a sticky mess? What do I clean it with? I think in prior threads some people said not to use goof off or anything like that because it would damage the plastic that the light housing is made of.

In case anyone was wondering... these things just peel off. No residue left behind. Just a quick spray of windex and you're good.

Im still not impressed that they ripped on you like that. Mine did the same thing. I will be using a different route of tinting this next go around

What are you going to do? Paint?

I'm curious because I'm already tired of seeing them 'naked'. I was about to order another pair from Bat hopefully at a discount... but not if this is common with them. I figured what happened to mine was just a one time thing.

Instead of overlays, paint the tail lights with a 1/4 paint, 3/4 clearcoat. Test it out on some newspaper and lightin from there if you need too.
