ok so here is the deal. I sold a polished KA24DE intake manifold to sombody. They have had it for a good deal of time and told me that you have to pull the motor to take off the upper part of the manifold? does anybody have any suggestions i can give him or do you really have to pull the motor to get the upper part of the manifold off??

the manifold i polished btw:

They need to remove the support brackets under the lower manifold and some times the oil filter to get it to drop enough. Once the lower unit is lowered you can pull the upper off the studs.

na the inside is not polished. i have no tools to do anything like that. if you plan on trying to polish the inside by hand i warn you of a daunting next to impossible task ahead of you.i did that manifold 10% dremel tool and 90% hand sanding.

Yes there are vacuum lines. Tell him to tape and label all the lines so he knows how to put them back on. Maybe even draw a quick diagram so he can sort them out. It can be a real mess. Other than that and the brackets it's pretty straight forward.

I dont know teh soch manifodl as well as the doch manifold but i can tell you that you cannot get you hand fingers any further than maybe 4-5in tops. and maybe only 2in with a dremel. trust me, that was my origional plan to polish the inside, i know how hard it is. you have to get it extrude honed. and you wont "see" your reflection untill about 400grit. if your going to go that high then you might as well finish the job.
