removing stuck intake mani gasket

my intake manifold gasket is BAKED on the head, its being soooo stubborn. im using a razor carefully but are there any other methods / things to help?

Maybe you can sit that end in something and soak it to soften it up a little. Maybe a pan you use for oil changes or something.

wow! this is killing me. even with a brand new razorblade i can barely get to the surface taking up a peice of gasket maybe 5mm in width.

you think they could deck it like they do the bottom surface at a machine shop? heres a pic of it and its a mess. even with a new razorblade every 2 min i can barely get material off, and its roughing up the surface. heres a pic, is everyone elses like this? grrr i should've left it!

soak it gasket-down in a pan of kerosene over night. That might soften it up.

Go to a parts store and buy a can of spray on gasket remover. You may have to spray...wait...scrape....spray...wait...scrape several times but it will work.

im going to take it to the shop just because. ive tried a little with razor/chisel and already beat up the aluminum. not worth it to take everything apart again

Use this and put it on a drill or some kind of grinder. Do it slow and with little pressure and adjust accordingly.

yeah, I had the same problem (KA24E though). That gasket remover spray didn't work for me too well. Plus, if it dries, it leaves a film on everything. I just kept at it with a razor blade and a dremel tool. I bet it will be easier to have a shop do it.
