I am attempting to replace the rear lower trailing arms on my 1998 Pathy. I was able to get one bolt and nut off passenger side LTA, but the bolt closer to the rear was stuck after I got the nut off. The bolt can be twisted and I can feel the bushing move with it, ruining it more. I hit it a few times with a hammer and it wouldn't budge. SO the bolt can tightly turn, but not move to get it out. I sprayed PB Blaster all over it.
My question is how to handle this:
Should I get an air hammer?
Should I leave the nut flush with the bolt tip and pound it with a hammer? Saving the bolt.
Should I just pound it with a hammer, destroying the bolt, and just replace it?
Also, I have the vehicle on jack stands and I have an extra jack. I was using the jack on the rear axle trying to adjust axle height in order to get that bolt out. Does altering the axle height help the tension to get LTA bolts out?
Thank you in advance.
