Ok, I did a search and I couldn't find anything on it. I noticed on cardomain (http://www.cardomain.com if you've never been there) that some guy had somehow removed the wood trim from his S14.

What I really want to know is if anyone here has removed it, so I can ask them the following:

-How hard is it to get off, and what's the best/easiest way to get it off?

-When you get it off, do you severely damage the underlying panels (i.e. scrapes and whatnot)? I'd rather not put another trim kit on, I'd just like the factory black, but if I destroy it in the removal process then I can't do that.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, I intensely despise my factory wood trim, it is definitely not the look I am going for (it is in perfect condition though). I may very well try and scrape it all off, so before I DO that, if someone is interested in trading the panels for stock black ones (plus maybe a spot of cash from me to you), get hold of me SOON. My email is [email protected]

Well, I'm an impatient sumbiatch.

I just spent the last two hours tearing the fake wood OEM trim out of my S14. If anyone wants to do this, it's a pain but not impossible, and so long as you don't shear the things off with a knife, the black panels underneath will still look damned good. After a little scrub and some armor-all, it looks like it came all black from the factory.

If anyone else is trying to get theirs off, my best advice is just to work slowly, if you get impatient you could wind up damaging your interior. The gray adhesive stuff isn't as bad as it looks, comes off pretty easily with just a fingernail, should there be any left after you've gotten the trim off. Now I just need to find out how to dye my door card inserts black and I'm all set.

sure. And then you would spread that crap all around and have more work to do...

I saw it today and it looks fine, just like he said. No issue.
