Removing roof rails on EX35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Has anyone removed the roof rails and if so, what do the trim pieces to cover the holes look like? Pics would be nice!

Are you talking about the entire roof rail system or just the cross rails?

Regardless, good luck getting any pieces and parts for the system. Infiniti will tell you that parts are not available for purchase.

I damaged a part of both cross rails and wasn't able to purchase replacements. Only the entire cross rail is available for purchase. eBay solved my problem.

Just the stock roof rails that the car came with.. not the optional cross rails. I thought removing them, if easy enough, would give it more of a coupe look rather than a SUV-crossover look.

You should be able to unbolt them. There may not be a good option for covering the bolt holes though.

I don't think it's going to happen since it seems there would be some bolt holes left in the roof with no way of concealing them. And you would not be able to install them either since you wouldn't have bolt holes for mounting them!
