Apologies if this isn't the right forum, it seemed like the best one.

I'm wanting to remove pins from both sides of the Super Multi Junction and can't seem to get the pins to release. Is there a trick to removing these pins that is different then regular connectors? I wish it were as easy as removing the pins from the fuse block.

why are you removing pins out of the connector? its a bad idea...they aren't made to be played with like that.

Because it's better then clipping the wire on both sides of the SMJ, cleaner and more compact. If it's easy enough to do, it will make rerouting the wires quite a bit easier as well.

this sounds like a problem just around the corner but I guess just keep at them...removing pins out of a connector really isn't anything you do in the mechanics field.

Yes it is. haha, just kidding, it's not but there are definitly circumstances where you must, I'm not going to question.

If they are anything like ecu pins they are a biotch, you have to use a pick to gently pry up on a plastic tabe, just look for something that needs to be gently pried up, if you REALLY can't figure it out still the fsm has instructions for removing the pin's on every single connector, def. for the SMJ I've seen it before You can get a copy from vq35de.com/esm/nissan

The FSM has that info? Dang, I looked and I didn't see it...musta just been looking in the wrong area.

FWIW, I figured it out. On the SMJ you have to remove a black and blue retainer from two sides of the white SMJ square, from there it's just like every other connector, pry a small plastic pin out of the way and pull.

I've already eliminated close to 25 wires from it and will probably be removing more.
