Has anyone removed the overhead console ( map lights, sunglass holder) in a M35. I have a light rattle coming from there and I can quiet it by pushing up on the console. I have been able to remove the end piece but am not sure how to proceed to remove the whole console, I have not been able to find any screws yet. There must be some clips to release but I can not find them . Any advise on this subject would be appreciated

I think this is described in the Service Manual (have to admit I have not looked for sure though). Please download the relevant section - link is in my sig - and see if this helps.

And, oh, yes, Welcome to NICO!

I've never taken down my overhead council (only dealer has done it), but I've had it done multiple times to have a rattle (really kind of a tick) worked on. A slight pressure on the headliner (just to the right of the microphone) would make it stop. It was driving me nuts! Multiple trips to the dealer never solved the issue until I took it to another dealer. Turns out it was a spot weld on the frame that had come apart - they sent it off to a body shop for the fix (it was under warranty). Just wanted you to know in case you have a persistent rattle that's not going away with tape and foam...
