Removing Muffler Shield(s) on 99 Q45t

any harm in removing the muffler shields on 99 Q45t? Everytime I get a new clamp on one, another rusts out. I lost one in motion already and just want to take the rest off. They rattle like hell once they are loose. Getting ready to replace the rear struts and can hit this while i am at it.Thanks
