I have a 2012 M37 and I've been trying to replace my aluminum console finisher piece that became scratched up. The pieces in Step 6 of page IP-15 in the service manual below.
Soo.... I have been following the service manual and this looks very easy. Remove 2 trim pieces and I have it. The problem is I am having a heck of a time removing the first trim piece which the SM calls "Cluster Trim C". The procedure is Step 1 "Remove Cluster Trim C" on page IP-14 of the service manual below.
The step says to use a flat head screwdriver and disengage the clips. I have been digging around right where the manual says with a flat head screwdriver and I am failing to disengage any clips and I cannot see in there to see where these clips may be or how they work.
Does anyone have a picture of this "Cluster Trim C" piece already removed so I can see what the clips look like? Or at least any advice on how to get this trim piece out without damaging the neighboring trim pieces. I don;t know how much force I should exert or whether I should be pulling the screw driver toward the center of the console or away from the console towards the door.
Thanks for any advice!
