Removing Lower wiring harness (s13)

I'm trying to remove the lower harness from the inside of my car (s13) and I was wondering.... Do I need to remove the entire harness (everything sprawling across the inside of the dashboard) or is there some way to seperate and remove at the SMJ without touching the dash panel harnesses?

The lower harness is just in the engine bay, it's your engine harness that runs throught the firewall and connects to the dash. You disconnect that from a big brown connector near your passenger side kick panel.
