It seems like all of the really slick G's I see have the INFINITI letters removed from the tail. I have been toying with the idea doing that myself. I was just going to do it like I have always removed emblems, heat, WD40 and some dental floss. Just wanted to check and make sure that nobody has had any problems doing this.

While I'm on the subject...would you remove the G37 also?

Glad you actually asked this question. I am wanting to remove the infiniti from the trunk too. I thought the emblems were riveted on or stuck through the metal not glued on. Am i wrong. If so I also would like to know the best way to get them off.

The best way is to use goo gone and fishing line. Let the goo gone soak on the letters for about 5 min, then take a fishing line and use it to cut the glue. Another method is to use a hairdryer to soften the glue...but you'll still need goo gone to remove the glue once the letters are off.

They are not rivited on.

I removed the G35 from my rear and will soon be removing the INFINITI.

I tried a few different things, but this is what worked best:

Get goo gone or some other CLEAR COAT SAFE adhesive remover and lightly soak the adhesive backing.

Use fishing line or no-shred dental floss to "cut" through the adhesive foam.

If you're lucky the adhesive remover will have left you with a nice clean finish ...Yeah right!

Use some more goo gone and work the adhesive away until all you see is the outlines.

Now for the fun part. Clean up the area with some soap and water and dry it. Bust out a micro fiber polishing cloth and some 3m fine cut scratch remover. Buff it out and it will look like it was never there!

Note: Be careful with heat as it MAY melt/bubble your paint, then you'll be buying a NICO sticker to patch up your booboo.

Using a hair dryer will be safe...don't use a heat gun on this

goo gone is good to remove the adhesive

Anyway, the investigation was dropped because of a lack of evidence, so I'm off the hook. Whats with all the cars and things around here? Oh wait... this is a car forum? oopss...

I've been at work for 10 hours. bored? yes.
