I was looking at pics of MeanGreenS13s motor, and I noticed that he is not running an IACV, FCID or AAC. I have Thursday off, and since I am on the wagon I won't be wasting a sunny day fighting a hang over I want a little project to do.

Any thoughts on this? I can fab a block off plate for the junk on the manifold, but what about the regulator? I know that I can pull it all and test it, and I already set my idle to 1200RPM with my throttle cable (KA24E MAF and a vented BOV). Just wondering if anyone else has done this with success. This is my daily and I do not have A/C.

I did this. Set my idle with the TB stop screw. Ran fine at first. Idle only wavered a lil bit. Problem was when I came to a stop sign or a light. Push in the clutch and it died. Tap the gas right as the rpm gets low and it was ok. Big problem came when conditions changed. AM vs PM, cold vs warm, etc. No adaptive idle controls so it kept wanting to either die or idle stupid high. I put it back to stock and its gravy again. Not really worth it imo. Ya it makes it so you dont need that hose bung on ur IC pipe and it makes the mani look cleaner but it also makes the car a pain to drive. Would be good for a high idled race engine though.

Duely noted. Thanks for the real world feedback! Looks like I will be detailing my engine bay on my day off instead.
