Ok well pretty much I made a custom lower plenum and I'm in the process of redoing all the vac lines etc and I have decided to try to remove the two (3) IACV valves I know 1 is idle speed, 1 is load sensing and the last is for cold start.

My main question Is that if I remove the cold start valve I am thinking that I will have to also "remove" the coolant temp sensor (to the ecu) and jump the plug with a resistor that would tell the ecu that the engine is at operating temperature. I will be tuning it after its all together just my main question is if my idea about the CTS will work I just need to bounce my idea of somebody.

Thanks for any input. :bigthumb:

Don't do that. The ecu changes injector pulse widths based on engine temp and would end up being like trying to start a carbed car without a choke. I'm not really familiar with the ka iacv, but if it's anything like the sr one, you should be able to just remove it and adjust the idle with the throttle screw.

Ya i already figured out how its going to work with the idle speed and the load sensing portion of the IACV. I guess my question now would be if I remove the cold start portion of the IACV (not sure exactly what its called purple plug) will the ECU still dump more fuel when it is cold and thinking the valve is open, or will it sense the open in the circuit and not add more fuel.

OHHHHHH..... I thought that you were talking about the cts and not the cold start circuit. That shouldn't be a problem to get rid of.

I kinda was talking about the CTS, I just need to figure out how it compensates for the extra air that the cold start IACV puts in. I think at this point I just need to go look up some diag trees in the FSM to see if I can get anywhere. I'm just concerned its going to be way to rich on idle because of this, thanks for the help though.

The air it pulls in is still metered through the MAF so it's no big deal. If you are in a climate where it gets below freezing it might be a tad off until you're up to temp, but I wouldn't worry about it.
