I have a 90 Q that i want to remove the front seats from temporarily in order to clean beneath them. Just wondering of anyone has had exp. doing this and if it is even worth doing. Thanks.

done it numerous times. its worth it if your crazy about cleanliness like me! do it in the sun if you can, well let the seats warm up in the sun then pull them into the shade and smother them in cleaner n conditioner. while your there take the backs out to.

if you take the backs out first, the fronts come out much easier. tilt it back and pull it out on an angle. be carefull although the fronts arent too too heavy, theyre bulky.

good luck

ha you know what, i just reread your post. you only want to clean under the seats. ahh well works boring anyway!

depend on how you look at it. I am a messy guy, my room usually requires some hopping, side stepping to get to the desk or the bed.

I probably vacuum my car once every 2 months or so bu you know what? there are some places you just can't get to. I mean I drive a 15 year old car and there are some stuf that I just can't vacuum unless the seat is removed. I only did that once and I probably don't need to for another couple of years

I have removed mine before... not to mention some other parts. Steam cleaned everything while I was in there Heath

After you unbolt the front seats, tilt it backwards and you'll see the harness for the seat control. Don't forget to unplug it, and keep the ignition off while it's unplugged, or the the little chime dinger will have a fit.Remove the back seats too. You'll be amazed the quantity of crap you'll find under there.Good Luck.Vandi.

I'd like to do the same thing -- on a '95 Q -- because I think I've got some crud clogging the track. The problem is I can get to the front bolts, but not the rear bolts, (because the seat won't move more than an inch forward). Is there some way to disable this to move it manually?) Or will removing just the front bolts allow me sufficient access to the rear bolts?

Your gonna have to figure outa way to weasle somethign in there to get those rear bolts out. Very interesting quandry, as theres no way youll be able to move the seat without removing all 4...

Maybe you could get a box end wrench in there... itd be tough but it may be your only alternative...
