I looked at the FSM and I understand how they are attached, but before I attempt to remove them, is there a trick to removing them safely? Starting with the driver's side seat/window controls. I have a small crack in it and I don't want to break it further.

Thanks!

Best I can say is follow the FSM and see where the seat control attaches then try and wiggle them out gently. Take your time and if you feel like its going to further crack STOP. The back ones are always harder than the front ones (Possibly because the back door panel is removed less than the front ones.

Also you have to remove the door panel to remove the switches, unless you have tiny arms and can get to the connectors. But the door panels are easy because they are held in by plastic clips.

Make sure to replace the lights for the window buttons and *seat controls because there not to hard and bulbs burn out after time.

*If your seat controls light up like the 1994-1996 Q45.

I've been removing the door panels in the 90Q a lot lately to get to the amps. There's a large plastic pawl right behind the window switch on each of the 4 doors that holds on pretty tight. I've been prying across the top with a screwdriver just enough (1/4") to get 8 fingertips behind it. From there pull evenly all across the top and it will pop loose. Three more metal clips hold it around the perimeter but you'll be able to pull it out easily once the top edge is free. There's a few more steps if you're wanting to unplug it (removing the door panel).

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot. I'll be replacing some bulbs too

I'm pretty sure it's all the same for me, except the drivers side panel is on the right side
