removing cut driveshaft

i'm prepping my sr for the swap this weekend and ran into a problem when i tried to knock off the dust cover on the transmission/driveshaft. everything i've read says that it just knocks straight off, but mine only goes 1/4 inch or so then doesn't want to move out any further. anyone else have this problem? thanks.

The driveshaft has to be pulled out and then the dust collar comes right off. Just take a rubber mallet/hammer and smack around the edges and it should just pop right out.

for some reason the driveshaft wont come out. are there any bolts that need to be removed?

is there any way to get more leverage in order to pull it out. mine is in there pretty good i guess.

Split the driveshaft in half, get under the car with your head up by the diff, grab the driveshaft, and use your feet to push off the transmission crossmember. Leg power is where it is at. Just don't smash your head on anything.

the transmission isn't in the car yet and the driveshaft is cut fairly close to the dust cover. i'll figure out a way to leverage it somehow.
