I came accross an article that suggested that this was a good thing to do. It claims decreased travel and a better feel.

Also, I wonder if this could be the source of 1st and sometimes 2nd grinding problems. I know that when I shift quickly from 1st to 2nd I get a grind as is the clutch isn't fully depressed. And of course we all know the roling 1st gear issue.

Any thoughts?

I dont know if it will help with your gear grinding problems, it could be due to your transmission, but bypassing the dampener makes bleeding your clutch a 30 second job compared to 4 hours, and its very simple, just take a small pipe wrench (what I used) and bend the hardline then it just screws together, easy a cake. I didnt notice much of a difference in pedal feel, atleast not as much as your assuming you would feel.

I just disconnected it, and bent it by hand real quick.. My petal is extremely hard.. ACT Xtreme pressure plate, ss line and no dampening.

Rolling first gear issue is normal. You aren't supposed to go into first gear rolling.. I do anyways though..

Just remove that gay loop..

You'll likely feel no difference in how the clutch operates, but you may get a slight vibration in the clutch pedal when you depress it at higher RPM's.

I removed mine and installed a AP hard clutch line. I like it a lot it feels smoother and when I need to bleed my slave cylinder it doesnt take forever
