like the topics says i have one broken stud while i was replaceing my turbo manifold.

so drill a whole with a small drill bit and i use the extractor.some how the extractor broke off.

now im in some serious Shlt

the extractor is titanium and when i tried to redrill a hole it doesnt seem to cut through. Do anybody know if titanium is drillable?

anyone had this problem before?

Have you tried using a different drill bit? Maybe the one you're using is dull?

I have this same problem with my intake manifold one of the bolts seized onto the head and I cant remove it, I've fvcked with it so much that its about to break.LMK if the extractor worked.

What are the OEM bolts made of?

Good luck.

Standard bolts are steel, of different grades and hardness, and yes they can be drilled out.The steel extractor is hardened can not be drilled, I even tried a solid carbide metal drill,However a carbide drill may work on titanium, and i don't mean a carbide tip masonry drill, a proper metalworking carbide bit. ( assuming this is not titanium coated hardened steel)I am sorry to tell you I had to buy a new manifold !!Good Luck...

If you are competent with a welder you may be able to put a nut over the broken extractor and weld it to it. If this works you can then remove the extractor and possibly the stud as well. If the stud won't come out use as big a drill as you can and the largest extractor you can get into it. If you can't get the stud out drill it right out and retap the thread and fit a thread repair coil or a larger stud.
