Hello,

I am in the process of removing my BOSE stuff from my truck. I have a new Pioneer 6900UB deck, and 4 Infinity Refernce 6 3/4 Speakers for fron and rear. I am having a hell of a time getting around the BOSE amps in the front two doors and rear hatch. When I called Crutchfield they told me the colors for the positive and negative wires for the speakers. Not even close as the harness does not even have those colors. Right now I am hooked to the BOSE amps and the system sounds like crap. Please advise. I really would like to use existing wiring and not have to rewire. Thanks.

Any suggestions can also be emailed to [email protected]

Thanks again

Not trying to tell you what to do but I went through the same thing before coming to the conculsion that an aftermarket amp was the only way to go,for me anyways.I want sound quality and some volume to go with it,that was not going to happen with the stock bose amps.Running new speaker wires was a lengthy project (1.5 days )but well worth it in the long run if you are keeping your truck for awhile.

I had the same problem. There are several different diagrams on the internet and none of them matched what I had in my QX4 I had to take a volt meter and check continuity between the wires behind the deck, to the speaker wires. Then simply bypass the amps.

A complete rewire is ideal, but like tigwelder said, its extremely time consuming.

I doubly agree. Personally I had fun running wires in my QX4 but I get a kick out of that kind of stuff. It's really not difficult, just have to figure it out. I recommend doing one side at a time. After you figure out the first side then the other side will be a breeze.

Good luck!

i would have to agree with empty v. it shouldnt be hard with a multimeter and an extra speaker. the bose amps have speaker inputs so if you use the speaker wire before the amp and bypass it you shouldnt have a problem. putting in the deck might make it a lot easier especially if your using a wire harness when clipped together the colors should be easy to identify from the opposite side of the factory connector. just use the continuity function on a multimeter.

good luck

The Bose amplifier was specifically designed for the Bose 1ohm speaker. If you use 1 and not the other it will sound like crap. IE Use Bose amp but not Bose speakers or the other way around. If you change out a Bose system its is highly recommended to do a complete change out. Including head unit, amps, speakers, and wiring.
