Help!! Father-in-law has a 2004 Altima 5spd. We need to remove the shift knob. How does it come off? We've twisted, pryed, lifted,...tried just about everything. How does it come off?

If it's a 4cyl. You turn it counter clockwise. Try using an oil filter strap wrench with a shop towel under it. If it is a v6. The boot should come up and underneath there is a metal stud. a 19mm socket should get it off. Good luck.
