I need a new alternator. I've done all the prep work to remove the alternator. The bolts and belts are off and I'll remove the wire next.

But how do you remove the alternator from the engine. When I'm in front of the car, I can move the alternator side to side. But I can't move it towards me. How is it mounted on the motor. Do I need to knock the bottom up and pull it from the top?Or is there a 3rd bolt I'm not aware off.

It comes down. I just beat the crap out of it til it fell out. Be careful, if you ruin the outside, some places won't accept it as a core. But yeah, the 2 bolts, the belt, and the wires are all that should be connected

it takes 10mins to remove. go under the car, take the shield off, unbolt the big nut, ect. everything on. go from the top, remove the intake tube, undo the sliding bolt on the alt, and go back underneth and it should pull out, just move it around
