is there a reason for doing that? I have a co-worker who removed all his altima emblems too. why is that? When i ask him, he said he didn want people to know wat he is driving. please advice.

I think it makes people have to take a closer look at your car a little more to try and figure out what it is.

And if you have a nice car and want to show it off that is a good thing!

At least that is my thinking....................

Im all for keeping them on. Its advertising for the car...and more people need to know about versas. Without the logos...it might as well me a ford focus!!

But hey, thats just me, I have a huge NISSAN decal on the front of my car, im getting some NISMO ones on the back, and some GREDDY sponsor stickers...so Im very passionate about what I drive.

I agree. I like having them on. The only thing is that I don't like where they're placed. I'm thinking of moving mine like Kimber did. She's a very wise jedi! (although I'm not going to paint mine).

I agree with keeping them on...... when my co-worker told me he took them out because he didn want people to know he is driving an altima, his tone sounded more like he was embarass of his ride and does not want people to know. Didn want to probe further or challenge him because he is a co-worker... no wise to do that.

Well I took off my S emblem and have been meaning to replace my Versa one with my Tiida one but have just been too lazy. As for the Nissan emblem...I'm leaving that one just where it is.

I do this because its just my own personal preferance. Its my car and I want to make it how I want it. Just like my plates...I have never put my plates on...i figure when I get pulled over and giving a fixit ticket I'll put them on.

You're right - emblems are personal preference. License plates, however, are not.

No plates are a fix-it ticket in California?

Wow, your laws are weaksauce. Here it's a moving violation.

Hey lain - I hate to tell you, but not putting your plates on in CA is called "failure to present" and it's a pretty hefty fine (depending on the county, could be as much as $300). As long as you have a piece of paper in your window (something that looks like a dealer temp registration) you probably won't get stopped for a little while. But just don't get caught at a DUI checkpoint, because they'll nail you for it. I used to work those checkpoints all the time and that was something that we would look for.

I think removing emblems makes it look cleaner and the back and less busy. I like it, I like it more on VW's.

It definitely has a cleaner look, no doubt. I think most of it is just poor placement, though. I want people to know what my car is without having to guess, but I also think that it seems so out of place being off to the side like it is and having the SL sitting on the other side all lonely.

At least with it under the back latch, it seems more uniform with everything else being in the middle.
