I am putting in a SR and it didn't come with any of the AC stuff so I figured it would just be less headaches if I removed it completely as in the stuff under the dash. What I want to know though is if the stuff under the dash can safely be removed, mainly the cooling unit which is the black box labelled CL-50

On both sides of it, it is sort of open and attached to the stuff on it's left and right but the FSM mentions that black box as being the only A/C piece. Is it safe to yank it?

Leave it and cap off the 2 hardline ends on the firewall.

I wanted to remove it just for the extra space under the dash and so that I could use the two free holes to run wires and what not rather than leaving that box sitting there annd having to drill another hole in the firewall.
