After doing my sr swap, i removed my charcoal canister, but i cant figure out what to do with the line that used to run from the canister to the gas tank. I dont want to blow my car up. . and if fumes do come out that line, im sure its not a good idea to have it near the engine bay.

if i used a vaccum cap, i would also want to relocate the line. cut it back as far possiable, maybe even catch it rite when it comes out of the tank.(if it even comes out of the tank)

If you cap the line (I did that, though I wish I kept the carbon canister), you'll have to vent the tank by taking off the gas cap once in a while. Otherwise the pressure in the tank will make the gas gauge read off, and a LOT of pressure could rupture the tank (aren't S13 and S14 tanks plastic? my S12 tank is steel).

Now i may be wrong here. But if you cap the line, wouldn't that create a vacuum inside the tank and not build pressure?

With no way of air being able to replace the gas that was removed, that would create a vacuum, no?

Thats exactly what happens, all that fluid going out and no way to let air in. i wouldnt be worried about a ruptured gas tank, but a vacuum in the gas tank means that your motor could not be getting as much gas as it should.and you know what they say.... lean mixture= damaged engine.

i was going to leave it open, but normally wouldnt you want a vent above the container its venting, seeing how gravity works and all.

I traced the line back to the gastank today, it seems to lead to a component that prevents gas from excaping out the line. so i just i removed all the line leading to the engine bay. and vented it at the gas tank
