So I had the car up on the lift this weekend and didn't know whether or not this thing was a cat or a resonator, no O2 sensor after it. It's flanged right before the midpipe, which doesn't look to have anything on it disregarding the funky squished bends (midpipe). I'm toying around with the idea of bypassing it to give the exhaust some real aggressive sound. Call it a shot in the dark but it could be bad and get raspy, don't know, could be good. I've heard of people bypassing their resonators, is this what they were talking about?

stock 3.5 does not come w/ a resonator so that thing you're looking at is prolly the cat. Removing it will make it loud and illegal

The borla is pretty nice as is. I thought about opening up the piping from the cat back but to be honest, I'm more interested in the sound than the min hp I'd get from removing the stock piping. Not to mention the cost of it all. Hmmmmm.... Maybe I'll just leave things as they are.
