Hmm, I read somewhere that if you use the valet key to pry it out, it'll work. Are you trying to get back to a key ignition?

no i am trying to switch out the white push start button for a red GTR ( r35 ) push start button

Cool! The FSMs may have the procedure...link in my sig.

The push button assembly should just pull out. may take some force for first time, but can be done by hands. disconnect it from the back and then 2 clips hold the button in place and put new button in.
