Hello all. First time post. Recently purchased 2008 White A/C 3.5. I am contemplating removing the G35 style spoiler that came with the car when I bought it. No replacement spoiler, just back to the stock look. I don't believe the spoiler is bolted on, just on with double sided adhesive tape. From what I gather, I can use fishing line or dental floss to cut through the tape, then goo gone the residue off. Has anyone removed one of these cleanly or is there a risk the paint will be messed up?

Another question, is it standard practice to use adhesive tape, and not maybe some type of epoxy or any other type of glue? How could I know for sure what is used to put the spoiler on with?

Appreciate any input.

The easiest way to discover if it is bolted on or not is to pop the trunk and remove the black mat that is on the trunk lid. After you remove it if there are bolts it is bolted on if not it is probally just double sided tape. After you remove could I get it from you? If you are interested in getting rid of it I will pay for shipping.

WELCOME!You should check under the trunk lid... remove the cover and see if theres any bolts.

If not, it depends what it was put on with, it may be just sticky tape and go away with ease... or it may be some sort of stronger adhesive.. Id contact the dealer and ask what they use.

Dont just try tugging on it though!

Well, like you guys suggested, I popped off one side of the trunk lid liner and found 3 bolts on one end. So, I guess that settles that.

Thanks for the replies.
