I searched but couldn't find anything on it. Does anyone have any advice for removing the dealer decal/sticker that is molesting the back of my Z?

I took mine back to the dealer, I told them to take that ish off!!!

if you do decide to do it of yourself.

Heatgun/blow dryer

1. heat the sticker, until the edges of the sticker comes off-careful not to burn your car's paint2. work the edges off with your nail. very gently

and residue can be removed by bug and tar removers (for the car)

if the dealer tag is a stick on peel it off by hand don't use a razor blade! then use ronson lighter fluid on a microfiber towel. it removes the adhesive thats left without harming the finish.(throw away the towel)just re-wax the area after you're done...

depends ont he type, if it's a chunky plastic kind high test fishing line can say throught eh adhesive behind it

if it's a vinyl sticker type, a pinstripe eraser si the best way, you cna buy one at any bodyshop supply house, it's like an eraser wheel you put in a drill, if you stay in one place you can burn through your paint but if you keep moving it just erases the sticker like well an eraser

Unless you've got a light hand or experience with the heat gun I'd advise against using it on the car.

A safer approach is to take a stip of duct tape, wrap it across the blade of a putty knife and then heat the blade a little with a heat gun and ease that under the edge of the decal. If its a large dealer emblem you'll need to take some time and reheat the blade from time to time and maybe even peel off the duct tape and reapply a new strip or two. Once you've got an corner or edge raised you can probably ditch the putty knife and use a squegee like the kind used to lay down vinyl graphics to remove the rest.

Patience is the key!

Goo Gone (its not goon Richie) is ok for removing residue but I'd personally use either clay bar or something along the lines of Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner to get rid of the remnants.

Always a good idea. I wish more dealerhips would just use a plate frame. I've got a friend in Chicago that won't buy a car if its got the sticker on it, unless the dealer removes it.

I was with him on one when he told a dealership that it would be ok if they left their sticker on provided they pay him a monthly advertising fee.

Thanks for all of the replies. It actually came off quite easily. I went out for lunch and since my car was sitting in the sun the sticker just slid off. I'm going to go buy some lighter fluid and some matches and burn the goo off like you guys said to.

I'd use goof off / goo gone / sticker shock, any of these will work. Be sure to wash and wax the area right after you are finished.
