Hello fellow Versa lovers!

I was so pleased to find this forum. I admit all the other cars I have ever owned have been such piles of crap, you'd never find a group of enthusiasts!

I love my Versa, Miss Ebony, she is the best!

I do have a slight problem. I like to use my iPod in the car and I use one of those adapters that broadcasts the iPod music through the radio. I live in the San Diego area and it is nearly impossible to get a clear station to play it through. The same happens when I drive through LA.

One of my friends was having the same problem and he simply removed the exterior antenna, bye bye radio signal. So...would this really help? And if so, how do I do it? He couldn't figure it out...

Thanks!

Pam

I don't know that this would 100% eliminate the problem of the radio picking up a different signal than what you are broadcasting from your I-pod. There are two ways you can unplug your antenna (sort of).

1. Take the antenna mast (it unscrews) from the roof of the car. It will cut down on the signal reception and not create a water leak.2. You can take the radio out and unplug the antenna from the radio. if you go this route, follow the tech section's recommendation. Don't plug the airbag light either.

Let us know if this works...

Option 2 would be the better bet.

I would just leave the antenna alone. Do you have the base radio or 6 disc changer? If not, get a radio that has an AUX input then you won't have to settle with the radio tuner device.

Wow! Thanks for all the cool advice...I think I am going to try the cheapest less evasive method of unscrewing the antenna. If that doesn't work I will try to find someone who can fiddle with it THANKS!
