hey guys i am getting pretty frustrated with getting this turbo to fit in my bay, im on my second manifold right now and it still doesn't fit.either im hitting my BMC with my hot side on one manifold, or im hitting my power steering and distributor with the cold side on the other. ive noticed however that if i flip one of my top mounts, i can use it as a bottom mount if i remove the really big ac line that goes from the ac unit behind the motor into what i am assuming is the heatercore. my question is, since the ac died years ago and this isnt a DD, can i just hack this line after i let whatever freon is still in the system loose? or is it not this simple?

Just so you know, that's illegal. Letting freon vent into the atmosphere is a no no. Would I do it, yup. Technically you need to take it to a shop and have the freon purged.

In answer to your question, can it be done, yes.

Doesn't the AC have it's own belt? Why not pull the whole thing? Weight reduction ftw!

In case you were wondering.

Lmbo..WD is right. It's a $10,000 fine here in NC to openly vent refrigerant. Ozone killer..lol...I done residential and some commercial Hvac and now with the big boys @ Honewell. But anways just a few days ago I saw pics on this site or ka-t.org. a guy had all the info and belt size. He also deleted his power steering. It was very clean looking. But hey I'm with WD. I got to have AC

No need to delete power steering either imho. Doesn't accomplish anything aside from making parking lot driving suck.
