remove 2005 pathfinder catalytic converter

Before jumping into the deep it would help if someone can advice. I keep getting p0430 meaning that the cat is not working good anymore. I read about the adapters to delete this code. Does anyone know if i can remove the cat and place these adapters without the mil turning on. I live in a area where i do not have to sorry about emission test.
