how do i get the 12V adapter OFF of the bin in the center front console?? The clips are not moving at all and I really dont want to break this ... basically I am trying to feed my ipod connection from my AVIC into the center front bin for easy access through the 12V port (since i never use that power connection)

The pics arent that good, but i have a feeling it would be impossible to figure out just from pics ... anyone with experience on this??

Im not sure it will come out clean, why not just drill a hole thru the back of the storage bin for it, so you can use the 12v in the future if you ever need it?

I drilled a hole just below the felt piece of tape...

FYI when you are putting the bin back in, make sure you line up the little nipples facing both ways, I think it gave me a hard time until I realized that.!

ya ... i am never going to use that 12V there because im replacing it with the ipod connection/charger for my AVIC unit. I was able to solve the problem tho ...

FTW!!! LOL

Now I have my ipod link coming in through the 12V without cutting into that box ... just cut into the 12V unit a bit. Saving those hole positions for my LED's like how you used them LBC =P

I hardly use it, but when I installed my AVIC-Z3, I just drilled a hole in the top near the 12V plug for my ipod adap. Better be safe then sorry dude. Leave the 12V supply and drill the hole. That's just my 411.

It comes out, but it's a pain in the a**. I sat on my chair for a while trying to pry it out, and it eventually came out... persistence is key! Even in the FSM they show you how to do it, but I must say those dimples are so hard to push out... I ran my ipod and USB cable through there for my DDX812 Proud that I didn't have to drill a hole haha...

So you push the entire thing out towards the inside of the box while you have the two dimples simultaneously pushed in... it's a real b**** so good luck!

That is where it was initially. I do not want it there.

I have already dremel'd the 12V. I will not ever, ever, ever use that stupid power for anything. I have an iphone, so that avic connection charges my phone and connects to my primary media source. Dremel was the only way I saw it coming out, so I did it. I dont have patience for trying to pry that PoS out, I felt like I was going to crack the entire thing. It was NOT designed to be taken out ...

I dremeled it with no regrets.
