hmnm so what do they do about factory turbo cars there? you would need every thing that an N/A 240 comes with not to mention plugs for you oil lines. and your car would run like crap becuase its now tuned for turbo.

big hassel.

I have a spare stock exhaust manifold. If you'll email me your information, I'll get a price on shipping. You can have it for the cost of shipping.

but they are not looking under your hood. if you later 95 and up you have obdII and they will plug u right up to scanner. if ur below that year u hit the dyno. Many of my buddies either pay someone off. lower to the point where it cant make it onto the Rollers. or just put stock cat back on and lean the car out

Well i sold my last car and am looking a new one. and was wondering if like 240sx 89-94 aftermarket turbo'ed would make it through washington's emissions. I dont want to have to spend 6k on a car then try to get it through emissions and have it not pass. then i wont have a car left to do my daily driving. I live in Vancouver and were like afew miles away from Portland, Oregon. So alot of the cars that we buy are coming from oregon so yeah they have different emissions standards. Cause i was looking at SR20det but i was thinking ya cant get thoses emission cause of the turbo. I wouldnt know never tried and dont have friends that gots the money or the balls or time to run a after market turbo through the DEQ

Emmissions is easy bro...converting your car back and forth is THE dumbest idea I've EVER heard...no offense meant of course. Either buy a fast NA car, or figure out a way to keep the turbo on...I mean really.

Thats what this thread is for. Trying to figure out hot to swap the turbo back and forth easily or how i can ghetto rig/beat the system so i wont have to take my turbo off. And you also have to remember I live in WASHINGTON!! they dont call us the Evergreen State for nuttin. We have one of the most strictest emissions beside cali.

HMM MD aint easy either, but bro what WD is saying is. its kinda an hassel. Now do you have to do this annually or like ever 2 years

there are cars puttting out lots of hp but there are methods u can use to fool out the sniffer. my buddy with and H22a prelude ( major valvetrain work etc) just took an domestic cat which has much more material inside and welded flanges and slaped that on and he leaned his car out. the reading that he got back was as if it was an almost new honda civic. so i would do something like that, befor i did the swap back in forth. also get an obdI car for tuneablilty reasons and emissions reasons, when they read your vin and reg, they will be able to tell right away if its obdII or I so u cant get an 98 240 and put and pre obdII KA in it they will hook it up no mattter what. emissions are a *****, i dont go. i push them back 3 times, then get around them.

obdII???? well the thing is i might not even beign geting a KA. Just speaking in general, all turbos arent welcome. my bro's got a H22A1 turbo'd 94 prelude. he has to run to the boonies and register it at his friend's house. imn probably goign ot get a 89-94 240sx hatckback hopefully 89 so i can get done with emissions sooner. we do it every 2 years. and then they test you on the 25 year old car mark then your done with emissions for life... on that car. In oregon, if your a injuried or disable veteran you only have to pass DEQ once

all u have to do to convert obdII ka to obdI is swap dizzy, ecu, upper engine harness, coil, and 93 intake manifold.

the secondary butterflies can be removed or you can just get an pre obdII manifold without the secondary Butterflies ( mixed views on the benifits of removiing them. u can search for that). but in an s14 body, they will still plug u up if ur later 95 becuase they will know that you have an plug for their scanner.

also going from obdI to obdII is not that simple. s14 have many more sensors then s13's. also when going to emissions testing, you can fail befor you even start the actually " emissions" test. they check all equipments such as check engine light which generaly is emissions crap, o2, egr, aiv, etc. if anyone of them are tampered with or screwed up you fail.

just put like, a 2psi wastegate spring in, and make a tune for emissions, running it lean and slap a new cat on there, you should be fine.
