Hi: I believe the 99 I30 and Maxima automatic transmission are the same. I did a pan drop on the I30 to clean the pan and magnet and replace the transmission filter/strainer. However, I can't remove the strainer. I was able to remove all of the bolts, except for the last one, which is actually a nut and a stud (threaded screw). The entire nut-stud assembly just keeps on turning. I donwloaded the I30 Service Manual from "infiniti-techinfo.com" but I didn't find procedure to remove the nut from the stud. I'm reluctant to use a vise grip to loosen the nut as it might strip the stud. Any help will surely be appreciated.
