i have been reading about guys removing the second butterfly on their 91-93's but i also read someone saying that the 89-90's with the KA24E have these as well. If I were to remove it, what would it do to the power band? im pretty satisfied with the low end, cause i can beat most faster cars off the line, but i need power from 4000rpm up. If i remove it, will it give me this much needed power. Also, can anyone give me detailed instrucitons on how to? thanks guys

I dont know if it will give you that much hp. Maybe 1-5 on the topend. But every little bit helps.

The CA has the same type of system. I would think you would give away bottom-end for very little gain up top. All you are really doing is removing the turbulance of the open blades in the port because at zero vacuum it should be wide open.

nope nope nope. i woundn't do this unless my car was going for all out drag. considering that you like your torquey KA, i wouldn't do this cause removing those butterflies will cause a reduction of low end torque which the KA is known for, just to trade for a bit of top end HP.
