That whole block needs tanked and the oil galley's brushed out. Have the machine shop clean the squirters at the same time in an aluminum cleaning solution.

Remove them yourself and flush with some gasoline or carb cleaner. Leave them off untill you get your block back, be sure to check torque spec in fsm and be careful, they are somewhat delicate. The machine shop could do this, but its a few less small parts for them to deal with.

thanks devious, but what about that timing sprocket, can it be fixed or what? and what all should i have done to the block, and crank ? and if im going high compresion, i was think since i keep it in the higer RPMs i should upgrade to a performace oil pump, (i remeber reading about the oil pump dosent suply a good amount of oil or something past 4500rpms, ) so i dont starve the berings of oil. or what do you think? im a noob at all of this so im still learning. just tell me what you think should be done . thanks devious

Yes that sprocket can be replaced, it simply slides off the crank snout along with the oil pump drive in front of it. You can order the part individual or get a complete timing kit. If you plan to push the rpms on a constant basis, an upgraded pump would be a good idea although a stock pump can probably handle just fine.

I went ahead and looked up the price on the sprocket. Available for $20 individual, btw. all ka lower sprockets are the same (ka24e, ka24de fwd/rwd) so finding a used one should be easy if your budget minded.
