Removal of Shift knob - 2004 Quest

I just purchased a Nissan XM SAT module for the wife's Quest. The installation instructions say to remove the shift knob. But is doesn't say how. Does any one have any experience doing this? I don't want to mess up the part trying to figure it out.

I did this yesterday....it's so simple when you know what to do. Just slide the cover on the shaft down and pull out the tab and the knob lifts off. Here is the instructions from the manual.
